CAPE MAY, NJ — Five races over three days made up the J/24 National Championship, which witnessed Chris Snow and his crew from San Diego post solid finishes to win the event by seven points. Sailing against 52 other entries off Cape May Inlet, Snow and his team of Willem van Waay, Nick Van De Wense, Dave Kurt, and Andrew Kerr sailed consistently, particularly in the first two days of the event, and jetted their way back to the West Coast with J/24 Class bragging rights.
Jim Mauri aboard Nazca was second, and Geoff Moore from Newport, RI finished third. The next mega gathering for these boats will be the J/24 North Americans in Kingston, Ontario July 19-23.
