NEWPORT BEACH, CA In an article that appeared in the popular on-line newsletter "Scuttlebutt," sailor Robert Vandervort announced that the oldest known meteor shower on record will reach its viewing peak later today. According to Vandervort, Scientists at NASA say that the Lyrid Meteor Shower will be visible throughout the weekend, but that the best viewing will come in the pre-dawn hours tomorrow. The shower can best be viewed sometime between 2200 GMT (5:00 pm EDT) and 0500 GMT (12:00 pm EDT) tonight.
