This year over 1,000 boats were on exhibit at the 90th annual New York Boat Show, held January 8-16. The show saw an increase in sales and a 13% boost in attendance compared to the 1999 show. Total attendance was 96,268, three percent higher than the three-year average. With interest rates on boat loans at a historical low and a booming Wall Street market, marine sales have been brisk. The 1999 show sold 6,800 inboard powered boats with a total value at $1.98 billion and an average unit cost of $291,375.
