Steve Fossett announced he and the crew of the 105-ft maxi-cat PlayStation will not continue from Bermuda across the Atlantic to the UK as originally planned after breaking the Newport to Bermuda record, but will instead return to the US for additional intensive winter testing and development in Charleston, South Carolina. PlayStation will still be going to the UK in the late spring, though a definitive sailing schedule has yet to be announced. The team will continue to refine the boat through the winter and plans to sail at least one week per month. The next weather pattern for a Charleston departure is planned on Sunday, January 23rd.
