The support crew for the U.S Maxi Zephyrus IV is preparing for a near midnight arrival with a mere 225 miles left in the MTN Cape to Rio race. If the yacht can keep its present pace it will not only beat the 1996 record by more than 24 hours, but also will additionally be the first yacht to finish the transatlantic crossing in less than 14 days. Sagamore still has 374 miles to the finish, trailing the leader by several hours. Intense competition was reported for third place as Greenwich Warrior battled back to third position moving Maxtech Wizard again into fourth place. In fifth position the 30-foot Africa Group still has 1400 miles to go.
