NEWPORT, Rhode Island — Four new match-race events for women were recently added to the 2000 calendar. These events include the Connolly Cup (May 6-7) at the Premier Sailing School Base in Irvington, VA; the Alpena Invitational (June 17-18) at the Alpena Yacht Club in Alpena, MI; the Thompson Cup (August 24-27) at Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club in Osyter Bay, NY; and the Newport Invitational (date to be announced) in Newport, RI.
